  1. Click the Apple logo in the top left-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Scroll down and click System Preferences, and wait for the application to open. It should look similar to this

  3. Find and click the Network icon
  4. Once this application opens up, if the 'Airport' button isn't selected, click it so it's highlighted blue, and you are on this screen. Make sure the 'Show Airport status in menu bar'. Then click the Apply Now button in the bottom right corner of the window to apply and save your settings.

  5. After configuring your Airport settings, you should have an icon in the top bar going across the top of your screen that looks like this. Airport At this point, you can close out of the System Preferences application.
  6. Next, find the Dock on your desktop, default is the bottom of the screen. Dock
  7. Hover over and click the Finder icon, the first one from the left.

  8. When the next window pops up, click Applications on the left-hand side, then navigate on the right side until you find the icon Internet Connect, then double-click Internet Connect to open the application.

  9. Once Internet Connect opens, you will see four icons. Click on the VPN icon. If a window pops up asking you to create a VPN connection, choose PPTP and follow the next few boxes. Otherwise, fill in the following information as listed, with the exception of ACCOUNT NAME. This will be your PSU Network login, the username and password you would use to login to any computer on campus. Also, check the 'Show VPN status in menu bar'. Make sure server address is set to vpnbox.win2k.fe.psu.edu.

  10. Once this information is correctly inserted, you should notice an icon near your Airport icon in the bar across the top of your screen that looks like VPN Connection. Once you see this, you are now ready to click Connect and join the wireless revolution! In the future, click the  , select the Fayette Wireless <&ImageTitle=strong>network, and then click VPN Connection, and click Connect to access the Internet!
