Penn State Fayette signs training initiative with Golden Seal Enterprises

3/5/2014 —

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus’s Center for Community and Public Safety (CCPS) recently signed a collaboration agreement with Golden Seal Enterprises (GSE), a veteran-owned small business headquartered in Winchester, Va. The agreement will provide GSE with the ability to offer continuing education units (CEU’s) for course offerings delivered at its training center on Aviation Drive.

CCPS is an academic and continuing education unit that provides first responder, governmental, industrial and corporate-based emergency and safety oriented training and education programs and services. CCPS has developed comprehensive accredited training curricula for CPR, First Aid, AED, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support training and is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an EMS Training Institute approved to provide first responder, EMT, paramedic, and other associated training courses for first responders. In addition, the CCPS has been providing law enforcement-oriented curriculum development and training delivery since 1996. During its tenure, the CCPS received the Association for Continuing Higher Education Distinguished Non-Credit Program Award for the development of a state-wide law enforcement academy curriculum. The award typically goes to the top non-credit course developed in the country.

Penn State officials say partnering with GSE was a natural fit for its outreach programs. "They have great facilities, great instructors, and a great history of safety and security training," said Ted Mellors, Director of CCPS.

On a world wide bases, GSE has been providing security assessments, investigations, training, security officers, and personal protective services on land and sea for almost two decades. Its clients include the private sector, U.S. Government and State Department-approved governments.

“Through this powerful connection, Golden Seal Enterprises, Inc. and Penn State Fayette will join forces to provide exceptional continuing education focusing on community and public safety” explained Frank Phillips, CEO and President of GSE. “With our combined resources and reputations, there is a great opportunity to spread public safety training not just locally, but nationally and internationally as well. GSE is honored and proud to fly the Penn State flag.”
