Continuing Education Courses available to local businesses and individuals

1/6/2014 —

Businesses and individuals can gain valuable career knowledge with Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus’ Outreach and Continuing Education schedule of credit and non-credit courses for the spring 2014 semester.

Penn State Fayette is offering courses in a variety of areas. Individuals can learn computer basics through MS Office programs including PowerPoint, Excel, and Quickbooks. Technology courses can help individuals to create a better newsletter and improve websites. Those interested in social media may want to sign up for a class on smart phones, Facebook, Instagram, tablet tips and tricks, or buying and selling on EBay.

Professional development classes are offered for individuals interested in acquiring a real estate license, getting mining certification, or learning new skills as a personal care home employee. Specifically designed classes are also offered for nurses, child care professionals, and career development specialists.

Company-based training is also available, allowing organizations to benefit from customized training programs in team building, project management, sales and marketing, blueprint reading, and much more. These corporate education and training classes can be held on campus or on-site at corporate locations. Continuing Education also offers specially designed certificate programs to help employees learn new skills in order to advance in their organization. In addition, should a company desire to offer credit courses or even a college degree for a group of employees, these educational opportunities can be designed to meet the work schedule of employees.

“These classes are being offered to area residents to help them grow in their professions, to help them identify new career opportunities, to investigate areas of interest, or to simply meet and make new friends who have similar education interests,” says Joe Segilia, director of Outreach and Continuing Education.
