Training delivery for constables offered at Penn State campuses
Constables in western Pennsylvania have the opportunity to participate in a program offered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) offered by Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus beginning in January 2013.
The program will focus on basic training, continuing education, firearms training, and optional training for more than 650 constables across 22 counties in western Pennsylvania.
Ted A. Mellors, Director of Penn State Fayette’s Center for Community and Public Safety, says, “The training will be delivered at over 20 locations in an effort to have instruction conveniently available to constables in western Pennsylvania. In addition, all classroom-based training will be held in academic environment thus providing an ideal setting for learning.”
Penn State Fayette’s Center for Community and Public Safety, established in 2003 and offering a wide range of coursework in law enforcement, homeland security, and emergency services, will administer the training.
