Forum addressing sex offender registration laws to be held Sept. 26
A forum addressing sex offender registration laws will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, beginning at 6 p.m. at Swimmer Hall in the Williams Building at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The forum will address Megan’s Law and the Adam Walsh Act in order to educate the public on the details of how each law works. The community is invited to join in on panel discussions with representatives from state and local law enforcement, the Fayette County District Attorney’s office, Fayette County Juvenile Probation, Penn State Fayette faculty, Children and Youth Services, and the Crime Victims’ Center of Fayette County.
The forum’s special guest speaker will be Herbert Hays, a certified forensic consultant and a member of the state’s Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.
This educational forum is sponsored by the Crime Victims’ Center of Fayette County, Fayette County Children and Youth Services, Penn State Cooperative Extension and Penn State Fayette.
