Middle school students compete in MATHCOUNTS at Penn State Fayette
Middle school students from eight area schools participated in the 2009 MATHCOUNTS competition recently at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The competition is an annual event that challenges students with a variety of mathematical questions and equations. Students competed in three rounds individually and one team round. The top four students—Joey Rechenthaler (Frazier), Jeremy Guzy (Laurel Highlands), Justin Bruce (Brownsville) and Wyatt Goehring (Margaret Bell Miller)—will go on to the state competition in Harrisburg.
