Lawrence Driscoll, new AOJ professor researching Criminal Justice topics

Lawrence N. Driscoll, Ph.D. has joined the Administration of Justice faculty at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Dr. Driscoll is teaching “Introduction to Criminal Justice,” “Criminal Justice” and “American Policing.”

Dr. Driscoll is currently working on two research projects. The first project is examining false reports to police and their cause of extreme harm to the victim of those false accusations. The second project is continuing his work on the lie detection technique referred to as “statement analysis.” He is planning to construct an instrument that will assess the credibility of reports of crime which make direct accusations against another human being.

 Dr. Driscoll previously worked with Hudson Association in Pittsburgh as a polygraph consultant and Dale Systems Inc. in Garden City, N.Y. He earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in administration of justice from the University of Pittsburgh, and his Ph.D. in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also received certification from the Polygraph Personnel Research School for Lie Detection in Philadelphia, Pa., in the Basic Polygraph Examiners Course and Advanced Training.
