Penn State Fayette launches new magazine: Fayette Nittany Newsline
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus has a lot of great stories to tell, and the campus’ first full-color magazine, the Fayette Nittany Newsline, is designed to share those stories and achievements with alumni, donors and the thousands of “Friends of Fayette” who support the campus in many ways. The magazine’s first issue, the 2007 Annual, debuted this spring.
Penn State Fayette Chancellor Emmanuel Osagie explains, “We may be a small campus, but we have a big story to tell. There is so much happening here all of the time. People just don’t realize the range and scope of the activities that are open to public participation here, and the honors and achievements earned by our faculty, students and staff. We considered a variety of ways that we could document even a sampling of what goes on here in a single year. We decided an annual magazine would serve our purposes very well as a historical record, both in text and photos, and as a way to communicate to our many friends.”
Lori Omatick, Penn State Fayette’s director of development, agrees. She says, “The Fayette Nittany Newsline is a good way for us to keep in touch with our alumni—who live across the country—to keep them apprised of the changes and growth occurring here. At the same time, our donors are curious as to what positive benefits their gifts are making. This magazine keeps our whole community and campus family informed.”
Feature articles cover the many facets of the campus, including campus news, alumni, donors, faculty, students, staff and athletics. A special at-a-glance photo spread spotlights cultural events, special awards, and many of the guest speakers who visited the campus in 2007.
