CEO Conversations April 17 to feature American Eagle Outfitters CEO

The final event in the spring 2008 CEO Conversations series at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus features James O’Donnell, CEO of American Eagle Outfitters. This free event open to the public will be held Thursday, April 17, from noon-1 p.m. in the Maggie Hardy Magerko Auditorium in the Fayette campus’ Community Center.

James V. O’Donnell has also served as chief operating officer, and a member of the board of directors of American Eagle Outfitters since November 2000. Prior to joining American Eagle Outfitters, O’Donnell served as president and chief operating officer of Lyte Inc. From 1997 to 2000, O’Donnell served as director of merchant banking for Colman Capital Advisors Inc., and as a project consultant for the C. Everett Koop Foundation. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1997, he was an owner and chief executive officer of Computer Aided Systems Inc. From 1980 to 1992, O’Donnell held various executive positions at The Gap Inc., including from 1987 to 1992 he was a member of the board of directors, and executive vice president and chief operating officer from 1989 to 1992.
 
CEO Conversations is designed to bring the business community onto campus to give students the opportunity to hear from and talk with key individuals in the local, regional and national business world about business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. CEO Conversations, an initiative of Penn State Fayette Chancellor Emmanuel Osagie, debuted in fall 2007 with local businessman, philanthropist, and former Fayette County Commissioner Joseph A. Hardy III as the guest speaker. Other guest speakers in the spring 2008 series included Sheetz Inc. Chairman Stephen Sheetz, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett and Fayette County District Attorney Nancy Vernon.
