Financial expert to discuss “Emerging Trends in Global Asset Allocation”

    Binay Chandgothia, chief investment officer at Principal Asset Management Co. Asia in Hong Kong, will visit Penn State Fayette on Thursday, Nov. 1, to talk about “Emerging Trends in Global Asset Allocation.” The public is invited to attend. The presentation and a question session are scheduled for 9:00-10:30 a.m. in Swimmer Hall in the Williams Building. Interested individuals are asked to R.S.V.P. by October 29, by calling 724-430-4211.
     Mr. Chandgothia will talk about recent changes in the asset management world. He will shed light on the growing emergence of developing markets in global asset allocation and how changes in the asset management arena are affecting investors and asset management firms. He will also address issues relating to alpha generation and maintenance in managing portfolios. His insights in managing portfolios in different environments will provide in-depth knowledge about the global financial markets.
     Mr. Chandgothia has had a successful career in portfolio management in multiple asset classes spanning 14 years. He started his career with SBI, the largest banking group in India. At SBI he was involved in managing treasury and mutual fund assets comprising government bonds, corporate debt and equities. For the last seven and a half years, he has worked with the Principal Financial Group (a Fortune 500 company). Initially he worked for PFG in India, where he headed the fixed income team. Currently, he is based in Hong Kong, where he heads the investment team that manages a range of equities and fixed income assets.
