Cultural Series - African ResurrectionAfrican Resurrection, Thursday, March 22, 2007, 6:30pm, Swimmer Hall (lower level of the Williams Building)
Sponsored by Penn State Fayette’s Diversity Task Force, the Cultural Series has become a staple of the community, inviting citizens to celebrate diversity through art contests, public lectures, and other activities. This semester, the campus will host African Resurrection, a heralded group from Baltimore. Parents and teachers are likely to appreciate the act’s ability to share a rich legacy of traditional West African dance, music, and folklore with the audience, and music enthusiasts will certainly rave about the dance and drum that will have children and adults dancing in the aisles. After the show, a reception will be held in the Cultural Center to honor the local student artists featured in this semester’s celebration of diversity.
The performance will be held March 22nd at 6:30pm in Swimmer Hall at the Fayette Campus. The hall is located by the campus bookstore, on the lower level of the Williams Building. Although parking is available both in front and behind the Williams Building, the handicap entrances are located behind the building.
Tickets are available at the door for $5. Children may attend at no cost. All proceeds will be used to support future Cultural Series activities coordinated by the Diversity Task Force.
