Procyk Family Trustee Scholarship
July 24, 2006
UNIONTOWN, PA - Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus recently annouced the establishment of the Procyk Family Trustee Scholarship.
The scholarship was created by the Procyk Family of Uniontown due to their respect and love for education, and a desire to ensure that education is supported in Fayette County. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Fayette, who have demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. Since the scholarship is an Trustees Scholarship fund, The Pennsylvania State University is committed to matching funds at a percentage of the donor’s contributions.
The Trustee Matching Scholarship program is an ongoing initiative to raise $100 million in private support for new undergraduate scholarships across the University. To underscore its commitment to this effort, Penn State's Board of Trustees agreed to match 5 percent of each gift with University funds, and to make these matching funds available to assist students as soon as the donor completes scholarship pledge forms and guidelines. These matching funds will continue in perpetuity in combination with income from the endowment.
Trustee Matching Scholarships assisted approximately 4,100 Penn State undergraduates in 2005-06, and more than 300 donors have created Trustee Matching Scholarship endowments since the program began in mid-2002. A minimum gift of $50,000 is required.
