What do you like most about Penn State Fayette? We are so blessed to have such gorgeous scenery. Our campus is set on a beautiful landscape that compares to no other.

What do you like most about teaching at Penn State Fayette? I truly enjoy learning from my students. Each student has a story to tell, a personal point of view to share. I hope they learn as much from me as I do from them.

What inspires students the most in your classes and/or your academic area? I am fortunate to teach the year-long internship/practicum experience for our baccalaureate students. At the beginning of the fall semester, the students are anxious about completing their degree requirements, and some are very nervous about what the next year has in store. By the end of the second semester, the students have an “aha” moment. They realize that all of their hard work has paid off. Everything they learned over the four-plus years at Penn State Fayette makes sense!

What kinds of unique opportunities are available to students in your classes or department? Unlike most programs on campus, the HDFS program requires students to complete an academic internship experience. Students also complete cross-disciplinary service learning experiences in classes.

What is your favorite quote? "The desire to quit is the last obstacle between you and what God has promised you."—II Corinthians 1:20
