Under contract with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Penn State Fayette has been providing Act 44 training to area constables since 1996. Penn State Fayette is one of six educational institutions across the Commonwealth that conducts Act 44 training.
Training Requirements
Act 44 mandates that all new constables and/or deputy constables who want to perform judicial duties attend an 80-hour basic training program. Thereafter, each constable must attend 20 hours of academic updates and 20 hours of advanced firearms training each year.
